Overview:
The course is split into six week terms. Each term you will be building your knowledge and skills to enable you to work more independently on your own projects.
About the workshop:
The aim of this course is to equip you with the fundamental skills needed for making items of jewellery. Starting with the basics of saw piercing, filing, surface texturing, soldering & polishing. You will learn how to use tools safely and efficiently, which is the key to quality workmanship. You will learn about the characteristics and tolerances of the materials used. With each session you will gain experience of using different processes, become more confident and able to proceed to design and make your own jewellery. These courses require time and patience and there is strong emphasis on learning skills correctly and mastering the fundamentals of jewellery making. This course is ideal for individuals who are committed to developing their craft and creating high-quality pieces.
By the end of the first term, we will aim to have completed a pendant or earrings, and depending on your progress, possibly a stone set ring or bangle.
